John P. Leonard, MD

John P. Leonard, MD, is the Richard T. Silver Distinguished Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology and associate dean for clinical research at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He is vice chairman for clinical research of the Department of Medicine and associate director of the Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr Leonard’s research focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies for treating lymphoma and related hematologic malignancies. He is a board member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s New York City chapter, and has served on the editorial boards of Blood and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville.

Anas Younes, MD

Anas Younes, MD, is chief of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Lymphoma Service and a professor at Weill-Cornell Medical College in New York. His interests include Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, developing novel targeted therapies, identifying biomarkers for treatment, and participating in clinical trials. Dr Younes led the trials that resulted in the FDA approval of brentuximab vedotin and nivolumab for treating patients with relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma. He served as the principal investigator (PI) of more than 60 clinical trials, has led the National Cancer Institute-funded SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) in lymphoma, and is currently the PI of a Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) grant supported by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Meredith Barnhart

Meredith Barnhart, LCSW, is the director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Information Resource Center. Ms Barnhart oversees 11 information specialists and an operations support coordinator; together, the team provides personalized support to individuals, caregivers, and their loved ones by providing accurate and up-to-date information and resources. Prior to joining LLS, she was employed as a clinical social worker in the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Ms Barnhart holds a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University and is presently pursuing a PhD in social work from the Graduate School of Social Service at Fordham University. Her area of research focuses on families with multiple incidences of cancers.
